If reading is not a part of your daily routine, you are missing an opportunity to increase your knowledge, your awareness, and your insight. If you would like such an increase in these things just develop a questioning mind and seek answers to your questions in books. You open doors when you open books–doors that have unlimited horizons of knowledge, wisdom and inspiration.
Through books you can live hundreds of lives. You can discover America with Columbus, stand with Lincoln at Gettysburg and work in the laboratory with Edison. Through books you can start today where the great thinkers of yesterday left off. Through books you can orient your life to the world you live in because books link the past to the present and the future.
Through books you can let into your imagination the full sweep of world history. You can watch the rise and fall of civilizations and see why they fell. Some people like to read with a red pencil in hand underlining import passages for later reference and remembering.
And now you may be surprised to discover that if you read just 15 minutes a day, you can read twenty books a year. That is is a surprising reinforcement of the need to read.

Even the few minutes with You Can Do It in the morning has the power to set the mood of the day. I enjoyed learning about the 15 min./day--this way it's not such a daunting journey to get through all the books on the nightstand.
