This headline is a recall from a high school cheering rhyme that was at one time, led by some energetic cheer leaders at football and basketball games. It is quite probable that neither those leading the cheer and those responding to it had little or no awareness of the full impact of those words on the participants. But since that time some well-educated and interested psychologists have made some interesting discoveries that they now call the Law of Appreciation. The interesting part of it all is that one who regularly experiences and expresses appreciation experiences a positive effect on the his/her health and well being. And of course since one of the strongest hungers in human beings is the desire to be appreciated, the expression creates a win-win situation.
